Sands Dune Quarter Plate, 18cm

The Sands Dune Quarter Plate is a small ceramic plate in matte ivory — eighteen centimetres on each side, two tall — with fine sand-coloured speckles distributed across the surface. The speckles come from natural variation in the glaze rather than from print, which gives each plate a slightly different distribution.

The ivory is warm rather than cool — closer to the colour of warm sand than to chalk-white. The matte finish keeps the colour soft, the speckles quiet, the plate reading as a neutral background for whatever sits on it.

Eighteen centimetres is the right size for a side or starter — a roti and sabzi at a thali, a single dosa, a small portion of dal-rice. The plate pairs naturally with the matching Sands Dune Dinner Plate and Katori for a complete neutral-toned table.

Available in sets of 1, 2, 4, and 6 — sized for a single seat, a couple, a family, or a household that hosts.

A note on how it's made. Each plate is shaped, glazed, and finished by hand. The speckled effect comes from the firing process. Small variations in speckle distribution are part of the piece.
