Seafoam Quarter Plate, 18cm

The Seafoam Quarter Plate is a small ceramic plate in soft mint-green — eighteen centimetres on each side, two tall — finished with a reactive glaze that varies subtly across the surface from pale seafoam at the centre to deeper green where the glaze pools at the rim.

A reactive glaze means no two plates are identical. The colour shifts and pools differently on each piece during firing, which gives the set the look of sea-glass washed up at different points along a beach. They read as siblings rather than as identical clones.

Eighteen centimetres is the right size for a side or starter — a roti and sabzi at a thali, a single dosa, a small portion of dessert, an appetiser plated for one. The mint green sits well against most foods, neutral enough for daily use and quiet enough not to compete with the dish.

Available in sets of 1, 2, 4, and 6 — sized for a single seat, a couple, a family, or a household that hosts.

A note on how it's made. Each plate is shaped, glazed, and finished by hand. The reactive glaze is applied before firing and develops its own pattern at temperature. Variations in glaze pooling are part of the piece.
