The Bowl Buddies Small Bowl is the smallest of the Bowl Buddies family — eleven centimetres across, six tall, holding 120ml. Available here as a set of 2: two matching ivory bowls with hand-painted dark brown rims that trace the top edge.
The ivory base is matte and warm — closer to the colour of warm sand than to chalk-white. The dark brown rims are hand-painted before firing. The contrast between the cream body and the deep brown border is the whole effect.
120ml is the size of a small katori — the bowl that holds a portion of pickle, a single chutney, a serving of dessert, or a measured side. The pair works for a thali setting where two side bowls earn the table, or for plating two single-serve desserts.
Each bowl is handmade. The brown rim is painted by hand, so the line thickness and continuity differ slightly across the pair. Stoneware, fired hot.
