The Folklore Katori, 180ml

The Folklore Katori is the bowl that does the quiet work, chutney, raita, kheer, the second helping of dal.

Hand-placed cobalt blossoms across a stoneware body. Fired three times: twice to build the body and glaze, once more to fuse the pattern into the surface itself. That third firing runs 12 to 24 hours longer than a standard katori, which is why the motif doesn't sit on top. It's in the glaze.

180ml. The size every Indian thali has been waiting for. Stack them, line them, build a meal around them.

Non-toxic glaze. Bone ash free. Made to eat from.

Microwave-safe. Dishwasher-safe. Made by hands that have done this for a long time.

A note on how it's made. Every blossom is placed by hand, so the density of the pattern moves a little from katori to katori. Variations are part of the piece.

Fired up to 1200°C. No bone ash. Handmade stoneware. Non-toxic, food safe glazes. This glaze is tested for lead and cadmium release to ISO 6486 Parts 1 and 2 at an independent laboratory. Minor variation in tone, weight and finish is expected, which is how you know they were made.
