The Black Bean Mug, Set of 2, 400ml

The Black Bean Mug is a 400ml ceramic mug shaped wider than it is tall — eleven centimetres long, fifteen wide with the handle, seven tall. The proportions are built for sitting on a desk for hours: wider base means it doesn't tip easily, lower profile means it cools more slowly than a tall mug.

The glaze is a deep glossy black across the entire body, inside and out. The gloss is the whole effect — light catches a single bright highlight along the curve, the rim picks up another, and the rest of the surface reads as full saturation.

It holds 400ml — closer to a soup mug than to a tea cup. Coffee with milk, hot cocoa, an oversized cup of chai, ramen broth on a slow afternoon. The handle is wide enough for a full-finger grip with room to spare.

A note on how it's made. Each Black Bean Mug is shaped, glazed, and finished by hand. The handle is pulled and attached individually before firing. Small variations in glaze pooling and handle angle are part of how a handmade ceramic looks.
