A platter is a small stage. It is what turns a weeknight meal into a dinner party, and what takes a dinner party from nice to memorable. Claymistry makes platters because the alternative in most Indian kitchens is whatever large dish happens to be available, chipped at the rim and apologised for at the table.

Every platter is handcrafted from stoneware clay, fired twice at up to 1200 degrees Celsius, and finished with a non-toxic, food-safe, cadmium free glaze. Every piece is bone-ash-free. The bodies are thick and the rims are broad enough to hold a full biryani, a whole tandoori fish, or a spread of kebabs without the food falling over the edge.

The shapes are built around how Indians entertain. Oval platters for biryani and pulao. Rectangular platters for kebabs, tikkas, and starters. Round platters for thalis and full meals. Small dessert platters for halwa, barfi, and cut fruit. Serving boards with matching chutney bowls.
