Patchwork Pal Square Ceramic Planter

The Patchwork Pal is a small square planter — eight centimetres on each side, eleven tall — finished with hand-painted patches in mustard, black, and chalk-white that wrap around all four faces. No two sides match. The pattern reads as a deliberate patchwork rather than as a repeated motif.

Each face is painted by hand. The patches are blocked out in geometric segments, then filled in with brushstrokes that show their direction up close. From a distance, the planter reads as a small graphic object; up close, it reads as a hand-painted one.

The square footprint and tallish proportions suit a small upright plant — a young snake plant, a haworthia, a small spineless cactus. Drainage is built in.

A note on how it's made. Each Patchwork Pal is shaped, glazed, and hand-painted before firing. The exact placement of the patches and the brushwork inside them differ slightly piece to piece — the patchwork is the point, and the variation is part of the patchwork.
