Spiral Spell Round Tray, 30cm

The Spiral Spell Tray is a round ceramic serving tray — thirty centimetres across, three tall — in matte black with a concentric spiral pattern pressed into the body. The spiral starts at the centre and wraps outward to the rim in evenly spaced rings.

The pattern is pressed before firing, which means the spiral reads both visually and to touch — small grooves between the raised rings catch shadow. The matte black absorbs light evenly across the body, but the rings create their own shadow lines. The result reads sculptural rather than printed; the pattern is part of the form.

Thirty centimetres is the size for a small served spread — a coffee service, a layout of cocktail glasses, a centrepiece arrangement. The flat surface sits stably; the slightly raised rim contains spills. The tray doubles as a console-table object when not in use — the spiral pattern earns it visual weight even when it's empty.

A note on how it's made. Each tray is shaped, pressed, glazed, and finished by hand. The spiral is pressed before firing. Small variations in ring depth and spacing are part of the piece.
