Ceramic Dinner Sets
I started Claymistry in 2023 with one conviction: a dining table should feel like a place you want to linger. The dinner sets here are built for Indian homes, Indian food, and the way we actually eat.
Every set is handcrafted from stoneware clay, fired twice at over 1200°C to create a dense, chip-resistant body that outlasts bone china and doesn't stain from turmeric, tamarind, or the acidic gravies central to our kitchens. The glaze is food-safe, lead-free, and cadmium-free — certified by independent labs — and every piece is bone-ash-free, which matters if your home is vegetarian.
The sets are designed around how Indian meals are served. Katoris for dal and sabzi. Plates with enough rim to hold rice and roti side-by-side. Serving bowls and platters that travel from kitchen to table and look like they belong on either one. No awkwardly shallow rims, no plates too large for a dishwasher, no sets that assume a three-course Western sequence.
What you'll find in this collection
- Four-, six-, and eight-piece dinner sets
- Reactive-glaze sets where each piece has a subtly different finish (no two identical)
- Solid-color sets for a uniform table
- Sets with matching serveware — platters, serving bowls, katoris
Everything is microwave and dishwasher-safe. Pieces are sold individually too, so if something breaks three years in, you replace the plate — not the set.
Why an IIM Ahmedabad alumna is selling pottery
Because I couldn't find a dinner set in India that I trusted. Most of what's sold as "ceramic" is imported, anonymous, or made with materials I wouldn't serve food from. The handcrafted alternatives were often beautiful but fragile, hand-wash-only, or priced for gallery shelves rather than daily use. Claymistry is my attempt to close that gap: export-quality, handmade, safe, and priced so you'll actually use it on a Tuesday night.
If you'd like help picking a set for your household size, email me — I read every message.
All Claymistry dinner sets are bone-ash-free — 100% mineral stoneware, zero animal bone, suitable for vegetarian and Jain households. Lead-free glaze, microwave and dishwasher safe.
